Christina Cook

MSN, BSN

The American Health Council is proud to recognize Christina Cook MSN, BSN as an affiliate of its Nursing Board for her commitment to excellent patient care and clinical potential. With two years in the healthcare industry as a Nurse Practitioner, Cook brings her expertise in family medicine and preventative care to the Board of Nursing.

Originally interested in Nuclear Medicine but put off by the lack of stability or reward down that career path, Cook was drawn to a profession in nursing by the fulfillment she discovered when practicing. Cook earned a BS from the University of Findlay in nuclear medicine with minors in chemistry and biology in 2006, where she was awarded Dean’s List Honors for her academic excellence. She then went on to pursue a BSN from Kent State University in 2011 and, determined to excel in her professional field, an MSN from Malone University in 2015.

An ambitious and proficient clinician, Cook holds positions with Logistics Health Incorporated (LHI/MBO), Central Ohio Medical Review, and Pioneer Physicians as Family Nurse Practitioner, among other roles. In these positions, Cook holds various responsibilities, from military assessments and documentation review to after-hours clinic practice. Cook remains committed to equitable access to healthcare, attributing her professional success to an emphasis on open discourse with her patients and staff. Toward the purpose of resolving health disparities, Cook carries out clinical home visits for patients who are unable to leave their homes. She does her best to educate patients on their care, emphasizing preventative medication management and care management so that these patients can heal and then maintain that health over time.

To enhance her professional career Cook maintains professional affiliations with the Ohio Association of Advanced Practices Nurses (OAAPN) and American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). In her professional future, she would like to grow and develop into stronger leadership roles, working to challenging and advancing her clinical and leadership skills with more diverse situations. Cook consistently makes philanthropic donations to Habitat for Humanity and the Salvation Army, upholding a humanitarian character outside of her professional nursing work. When Cook isn’t spending time with her family, she broadens her worldview by traveling, reading, watching movies, and practicing martial arts with her husband.
