The American Health Council is proud to welcome Jana Call, MSN, BA, FNP-C to its Nursing Board. Born and raised in Pontotoc, Mississippi, Call launched her career as an aspiring nurse in high school before returning home to work as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Director of RedMed Urgent Care. Her 8 years of experience in the health care industry has been defined by a desire to improve the lives of others, and she’s honored to be able to progress her career while providing care to those in her home community.

As the oldest of her siblings, Call began fostering her skills as a caretaker from an early age. She developed an interest in psychology while in high school and went on to earn a BA in Psychology from the University of Mississippi (2007). During her time as an undergrad, a family emergency shifted Call’s passion towards nursing. She pursued an Associate Degree in Nursing from Itawamba Community College in Mississippi and later completed her education with a MSN from The University of Mississippi Medical Center (2013), graduating with honors.

RedMed Urgent Care hired Call the same year and now oversees the practice as Clinical Director. On top of ensuring the clinic continues to provide quality services to patients at a quicker and more efficient time, Call manages day-to-day operations and ensures staff members and LPNs can provide the highest quality care. She takes pride in her ability to help others and hopes to continue fostering her skills over the next 5 years. To this end, she plans on earning her DNP to further hone her nursing expertise.

Call is also proud of her husband Jamie and their 5 children, whom she enjoys spending time with when she’s not working. She also enjoys spending her free time reading mystery or sci-fi books and cheering on the Denver Broncos.
