The American Health Council is proud to elect Samantha Bogner, Nurse Practitioner at the Cleveland Clinic in North Ridgeville, Ohio, to their Board of Nurses. Harnessing 21 within the healthcare industry, including 3 in her current role, Ms. Bogner brings to the American Health Council a wealth of skills and expertise in Emergency and Hospital Medicine.
Ms. Bogner is currently pursuing her DNP in Emergency/Hospital Medicine at Chamberlain University, where she is expected to graduate in 2018. She became involved in the field(s) of Medicine as she came from a family involved in Medicine. Her mother is a nurse and her grandmother is a midwife. Ms. Bogner watched her mom attend Nursing school, which prompted her interest in a Nursing career. She cites always harboring a love in caring for others, and attributes her success in setting her mind towards a goal and never getting distracted. Ms. Bogner is also very persistent and never makes excuses for anything, no matter the challenge. Her willingness to engage in social issues, listening to her patients, and trying to help them to the best of her abilities also aids in her continuous success.
At Cleveland Clinic, Ms. Bogner works within the ER department’s Observation Unit, which is run entirely by Nurse Practitioners. She oversees patients, performs evaluations, takes care of admissions, discharges, and participates in bedside care. Ms. Bogner prides herself on her ability to connect and listen intensively to her patients’ needs.
She is proud to have received an honor to assist in the creation of new education projects within Risk Management, which will be used within all the ER units across all 10 Cleveland hospitals. Ms. Bogner’s goals within the next five years include becoming involved in the education process within her department for new Nurse Practitioners, along with generating her own medical research. She is professionally affiliated with the Ohio Association of Advanced Practice Nurses and the American Academy of Emergency Nurse Practitioners.
In her spare time, Ms. Bogner enjoys reading and spending time with her children. She is charitably affiliated with Medworks.
